The Cub Scout program provides a group environment which is intellectually stimulating, physical and directed towards satisfying the child's basic need to face and overcome challenges. There is a natural sense of fun and enthusiasm achieved through games, outdoor activities, craft and adventure.

Cub Scouts get to see and do a lot. They spend weekend's away together camping, fishing and exploring. They go to sports meetings, visit factories, go to the zoo and the museums. They learn bushcraft, and how to fly model aeroplanes.
The programs in Cub Scouts emphasises exciting and challenging activities based on individual needs which include:

· Opportunities for interaction in small groups
· A sense of belonging and achievement
· Practice leadership and problem solving skills
· Develop a sense of fair play and justice
· Satisfy curiosity and the need for adventure
· Develop fitness and creative skills
· Provide new experiences and the opportunity to learn by doing
· Provide the opportunity to make choices and decisions

All Cub Scout activities are designed to be appropriate to age, development, social competence, family and community circumstances.
Cub Scouts can earn achievement badges by doing things that interest them and by learning new skills like cycling, electronics, sports, cookery, boating, writing and more.

There are also special Boomerang Badges earned by doing things like tying knots, first aid, hiking in the bush and building models. There are three levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold Boomerang Badges.
