Term 4 commences on Tuesday 14th October, 6.30-8pm at the 3MB hall. A copy of the program will be available at the beginning of term.
To those Cubs who attended District Camp at Glenrock Scout Camp a big thank you for your exemplary behaviour. It was a pleasure to have you there. An even bigger thank you though to Peter, Chris, Colin and Dave without whom we would have been a bedraggled, hungry lot.
Attached to this newsletter is a parent rota for the term. If you cannot make a week, please swap with another parent and advise me or Peter.
Wednesday October 15th is the next parent committee meeting at 8pm in the Hall. Please mark this is your diary and attend if possible. Parent committee meetings are held each 4 to 6 weeks and generally only last an hour. It is important that each family is represented at these meetings.
EXCURSIONS and ACTIVITIES: Remember “No note; no go”, so don’t forget the Permission Note when one is needed for activities.
As well as the weekly meetings there are some other dates to note.
Ø Hikethon Sunday November 2nd
This event is being organized by the four Mosman scout groups and is open to groups across the State. It can be used to raise funds for groups through sponsorship or just be a good day out. Registration costs $10 per hiker which goes towards National Park permits and other fees. Venturers and Scouts hike from Manly. Cubs hike from Freeston Hall to Balmoral, around Middle Head, past the Zoo to the Barn in Mosman Bay (10Km). A free sausage sizzle is provided for all Scouts who participate.
Ø Water Activities Night Friday December 12th
Clontarf Reserve 6 – 8 pm
This is a fun night of games with other Cub packs of the district.
There is a $20 per term subscription fee for Cubs which helps to cover the cost of materials used at meetings. Could you all please pay this to me at the beginning of the term.
